Easy Floral Clusters

Hello, crafty friends!

I’m so excited to share a closer look at one of the projects I created during my recent YouTube livestream featuring beautiful products from Altenew! If you joined me live, thank you so much for spending part of your day creating with me. I always enjoy our time together—creating, chatting, laughing, and, of course, sharing a few Crafty Gems along the way! 💕

For this livestream, we spent some time talking about something that can sometimes be a little intimidating when creating floral cards: building beautiful floral clusters.

You can have gorgeous flowers and greenery sitting on your craft table, but then comes the question…

Where in the world do I put everything?! 😂

Well, Altenew has a product that helps take some of that guesswork out of the process—the EZ Arrangement Die Set.

Taking the Guesswork Out of Floral Arrangements

One of the things I love about floral cardmaking is that there really isn’t only one “right” way to arrange your flowers. However, there are definitely a few little tips and tricks that can make the process easier.

Or, as I like to call them… Crafty Gems! 💎✂️

Throughout the livestream, I shared several of my favorite Crafty Gems for creating floral clusters, including thinking about the placement of your focal flowers, allowing your greenery to extend beyond the flowers, layering elements to create fullness and dimension, and moving pieces around before committing to adhesive.

But sometimes you just want a little help getting everything into place—and that’s where the EZ Arrangement Die Set comes in!

This set provides a foundation for arranging your floral elements, helping you determine where your flowers and greenery can be placed to create a beautiful, balanced cluster.

Instead of staring at a pile of die-cut flowers wondering where to begin, you already have a starting point.

Peace & Joy

For this project, I wanted to create something that felt elegant, warm, and perfect for the holiday season.

I started with a beautiful collection of deep red florals and greenery and used the EZ Arrangement Die Set to help build my floral cluster.

I absolutely LOVE how full the arrangement became! 🌹🌿

One of my favorite things about creating floral clusters is allowing some of the greenery to peek out from behind the flowers. Those smaller elements may not be the first thing your eye notices, but they help give the arrangement movement and make everything feel more natural.

Crafty Gem: Don’t feel like every leaf or piece of greenery needs to be completely visible! Let some of those elements tuck behind your flowers. Those little peeks of greenery help create depth and make your arrangement feel fuller.

Once my floral arrangement came together, I paired it with a soft blush background and beautiful touches of metallic gold.

And y’all already know…

I LOVE a little gold! 😂✨

The gold added just enough elegance without competing with those gorgeous flowers.

I finished the card with the large “Peace & Joy” sentiment, which was the perfect message for this holiday design.

I love how the finished card feels festive without relying on a traditional Christmas scene. The rich reds and greens immediately give us that beautiful holiday feeling, while the blush and gold add a softer Belle Rose touch. 💕

Another Crafty Gem: Play Before You Glue!

Here’s something I say often when I’m creating:

Don’t be afraid to move things around!

Before I permanently adhere my floral arrangements, I like to play with the pieces.

Move a flower.

Turn a leaf.

Tuck something underneath.

Pull something farther out.

Sometimes moving one little element completely changes the arrangement!

Your first placement doesn’t have to be your final placement. Give yourself permission to play until the arrangement feels right to you.

That’s part of the fun of creating.

And if floral arranging isn’t something that comes naturally to you yet, that’s another reason I think the EZ Arrangement Die Set is such a helpful tool. It gives you a guide while still leaving plenty of room to add your own creative style.

Crafting Shouldn’t Feel Complicated

One thing I hope you took away from this livestream is that creating beautiful cards doesn’t always have to feel complicated.

Sometimes we see a finished project and think, “There is NO way I can make that!”

But when we break the design down into smaller pieces—one flower, one leaf, one layer at a time—it becomes much more manageable.

That’s one of the reasons I enjoy teaching so much.

I don’t just want to show you the finished card.

I want to share those little Crafty Gems I’ve picked up along my own creative journey that might help make your crafting experience a little easier too. 💎💕

And remember: these are tips, not rules!

Take what helps you, leave what doesn’t, and most importantly, have FUN creating something that feels like you.
